Illustrators in the manga industry, when writing their own stories, they often base them on either their view of the world, perhaps criticizing or commenting on certain political aspects, or their more personal problems or concerns. Manga usually focuses on more personal motivations, such as protecting friends and loved ones and friends, and protecting and saving the whole world is not important or becomes a distant dream that cannot be accomplished before everyone who is close is safe (Thompson, 2010).

Also during character writing and design it's important to make every character different from one another, with their own motivations, morals and personal traits, so that the readers could relate to them. because when the reader cannot relate to the character or characters, it makes reading the story boring and might seem like a waste of time. Especially during long running stories, the reader grows attached to the characters, grows with them and maybe even looks up to them, and it's the mangakas responsibility to teach the reader something, perhaps even give them hope during hard times (Delicious in Dungeon - Fundamentals of Character Design, 2023).

A mangakas story can also be influenced by their close environment. Since manga originates from Japan and mangakas are mainly Japanese, they often fall victim to overworking, which can significantly worsen the mangakas health. There is even such a problem in Japan as “Karoshi” (jap. 過労死), meaning “death from overworking”. And due to manga artists' extremely tight schedule with no breaks and holidays they can also become victims of Karoshi. That's why some mangakas choose to go on a hiatus (The Sad Truth of Being A Manga Artist, 2021).
